Secondary school students in Ondo State, Nigeria, in a training programme on seed yam production using the yam minisett technique. The setts, were planted in nursery beds in a controlled environment.
Seed yam seedlings, planted in soil filled sacks in the open in a participating secondary school compound, in Ondo State, Nigeria. The seed yam when harvested would weigh 250 g minimum which would be replanted in the following planting season to produce ware yam weighing between 3 kg and 4.5 kg for direct consumption.
